According to local reports, they then spotted him in the swimming pool.

The family was reportedly staying in the resort of Sa Coma.

Emergency services were alerted about the incident at around 5.30 pm.

They rushed to the scene but it was too late.

Despite efforts to revive the boy, he was pronounced dead.

Police have yet to confirm where the young boy is from, but the Daily Mail says he was from Northern Ireland.

The tragedy comes after another young boy died in a drowning accident in Spain.

Last week, it was reported that 19-month-old Freddie Joseph Briggs died in the pool at his parent’s home in Spain.

We’re keeping the young boy’s parents in our thoughts during this distressing time.
