Stacey Solomon gets emotional as son Leighton marks major milestone

Kat O'Connor

“I’m so excited for him but I already miss him”

Stacey Solomon is having quite an emotional week after her son Leighton (11) marked a major milestone. The TV presenter fought back her tears as her second eldest child left their home, Pickle Cottage, for a week.

Leighton left their family home temporarily for his school leavers trip.

Alongside a photo of her son, Stacey Solomon explained that his school was going on the trip to mark their final ever year in primary school.

In the snap, her son is smiling outside a school bus before joining his classmates on the trip.

“Because it’s Leighton’s last year of primary school, his year has gone away for the week,” she wrote.

Stacey added, “I’m so excited for him but I already miss him. The little ones love Leighton so much and he’s the funniest and cheekiest boy.”

“Can’t wait to get him back but hope he has the best time,” the mum-of-five continued.

Stacey’s emotional post comes just days after she revealed she was working on a dream project.

Many of her fans believe she will replace Phillip Schofield on This Morning, but ITV has not yet responded to the rumours.

Posting to Instagram, the mum of five shared a note from her diary which said: “September 2023”

She then said: “Just had one of the most exciting meetings of my life. I can’t even tell you how excited I am to share this with you soon. My dream.”
