‘Was I wrong to ban my sister’s ‘loud toddler’ from my wedding?’

Was she wrong for uninviting her sister’s toddler from the wedding?

Deciding who to invite to your wedding is never an easy task. You don’t want to upset people but you also can’t invite everyone you know either.

One bride ran into quite a tricky situation when she told her sister not to bring her one-year-old daughter to her wedding ceremony.

She explained that she didn’t want her niece to attend the wedding ceremony because she might disrupt it.

“The child is more than welcome – she’s part of the family and we want her there as part of the day.

“However, as she’s still very young (and very loud at times), I’ve asked that somebody take her out during the ceremony if she’s being distracting and shouting/babbling loudly.”

“I know that this will probably happen as she’s constantly chatting loudly and is never quiet but it’s only for half an hour and she can be as loud as she likes for the rest of the day.

“I just want everybody to be able to focus on the ceremony and I don’t want the distraction,” the bride explained.

Unfortunately, her sister didn’t take it very well and even accused her of excluding her niece.

“My sister has told me I’m being an a**hole for ‘excluding’ my niece from the ceremony and therefore by default ‘excluding’ my brother-in-law who will be the one to take her out.

The sister is furious and says all they’ll attend is the evening meal if she wants them to take their toddler out during the service.

She’s so furious over the suggestion that she is even threatening to skip the wedding completely.

Do you think the bride is in the wrong?
