A wonderful gesture.

Carol McNally and Aideen McGinn from Water Babies this week presented a cheque for €34,000 to Grainne Kennedy, Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships at CMRF Crumlin.

Over 5000 babies and toddlers and their parents from across Ireland raised funds for CMRF Crumlin during Splashathon 2019, a national sponsored swim which took place at Water Babies classes in April.

Funds were also raised at Water Babies recent Fun Day to celebrate their 10th Anniversary in Ireland.

Water Babies is very proud to support CMRF Crumlin and are delighted that the funds raised will be going to benefit the Julie Wren Children’s Cancer Support Centre.

The centre was set up by Esther Wren, the mother of Julie Wren who battled with cancer from when she was a beautiful 17-month-old baby until she died just after her eighth birthday.

Speaking at the presentation Carol McNally from Water Babies said;

“We are delighted to be able to support this service for parents and children attending Crumlin Children’s Hospital which includes complementary therapies, a complementary nurse specialist, a palliative care grant and a remembrance day. These critical and urgent services help transform the lives of children battling with cancer and recovering from a serious illness. The service also eases the burden for families and loved ones as they cope with what must be the greatest stress and trauma of their lives”
