A seriously emotional video of two dads meeting their daughter for the very first time has gone viral on Instagram this week, and we’re not ok.

If you’re a parent, you’ll remember that heart-stopping moment you met your child for the first time. Whether they were plonked on your chest after birth or you met them under any other circumstances, it’s the moment when your whole life changes and it’s simply mind-blowing.
Just in time for Pride, Ben and Aaron Ptashinsky-Skinner shared the moment they met their daughter, Charlotte with Good Morning America. The look on their faces as their “lives became complete”, says it all.
Charlotte is now four-years-old and their little family is going from strength to strength.

They decided to share their story with the world to celebrate Pride: “Parenting is about love, and we have so much love to give. This was our way of celebrating Pride.”
The pair met in 2006 when Aaron posted a lighthearted “boyfriend application” on his MySpace page, and Ben responded. Cut to 2011, when the loved-up couple became engaged and eventually married in 2015.
They then embarked on their path to fatherhood through adoption with Florida-based agency, Heart of Adoptions.
Charlotte came along in 2017, as Ben recalls: “As cheesy as it sounds, my life has been enriched. We still are able to do everything we did in our old life – dinners, travel, movies, etc. – however, we have this beam of light who gives us purpose every day.”
