If you’re currently in the middle of the (hellish) teething stage, it’s highly likely you’d give anything to soothe your baby’s irritated gums so that you (and your neighbours) can get finally get some sleep.
Pink Watermelon Pops
We can’t think of a single baby or child who wouldn’t love these sweet and full-of-flavour watermelon popsicles.
Method: Blend watermelon chunks in blender until completely pureéd. Pour liquid into molds and freeze. Once ready to enjoy, run warm water over the lid and the molds to loosen.
Veggie Coolers
Method: Blend cooked leftover veggies such as carrots and courgette with a handful of fresh strawberries or mango and a little juice to sweeten. Pour into popsicle molds and freeze for a very healthy and soothing snack.
Avocado and Pear Pops
The creaminess of the pureéd avocado blended with the sweetness of peeled pears makes these pops perfect for your little tot.
Method: Pureé two avocados and two pears (skin removed). Fill (BPA free) ice molds half way, insert sticks and freeze. Makes about six.
Melon-y Minty Pops
Method: Blend 300g of watermelon with the juice of one lime and 10 fresh mint leaves. Pour mixture into popsicle mold and freeze.
Peach, Strawberry and Coconut Lollies
Method: Put 120g strawberries and one peach in a small sauce pan over medium high heat with 1 tablespoon of water. Bring to a boil, partially cover pot and then reduce heat to medium. Cook for about 5 minutes until fruit is soft, stir occasionally. Remove from heat and let mixture cool. Mix fruit with 3/4 cup of unsweetened coconut milk and purée in blender before filling pop containers and freezing until solid.
