Anne Hathaway Shares Powerful Message About Post-Baby Weight Loss We All Need To Read

Trine Jensen-Burke

The pressure for new mums to lose the baby weight as soon as you have squeezed the baby out is more intense than ever before.

Ads, Instagram feeds and the constant stream of celebrities who look as if they were never even pregnant in the first place days after giving birth adds to the feeling that we should be shedding the lbs at a lightning speed.

Actress Anne Hathaway, on the other hand, wants new mums to stop worrying about the extra weight, and embrace the fact that their bodies have changed.

Hathaway, who gave birth to her first baby, Jonathan, back in March this year, recently shared this empowering snap on her Instagram account:

This is what the Oscar-winning actress and mum-of-one had to say:

“There is no shame in gaining weight during pregnancy (or ever). There is no shame if it takes longer than you think it will to lose the weight (if you want to lose it at all),” Hathaway, 33, captioned her picture.

“There is no shame in finally breaking down and making your own jean shorts because last summer’s are just too dang short for this summer’s thighs,” the mother of one explained, adding, “Bodies change. Bodies grow. Bodies shrink. It’s all love (don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.)”

Well, we don’t know about you, but we certainly fell that little bit more in love with Anne Hathaway right about now.
