Binky Felstead says leaving toddler daughter India for work still ‘breaks her heart’

The mummy guilt is real...

Parents need loads of extra hands to get it all done – but no matter how much help you have around, leaving your little one never gets easier.

Binky Felstead has admitted that being away from her daughter for work is her biggest ‘low’ as a mum.

Reality star Binky said that having to say goodbye to little India, who turns two next month, “breaks her heart”.

“Work commitments mean I can’t always be around & leaving her breaks my heart,” she wrote in an Instagram post.

“I have to remind myself that when I do get back the welcome smile & cuddle is just amazing.”

Her biggest high as a mum, Binky said, is watching her daughter grow.

“Simply being with India & watching her as she grows and experiences new things everyday, she makes me laugh, she’s got the most fantastic sense of humour, especially for one so little.

“Just such a joy to be around, you can’t feel anything but happy. ”

The 28-year-old shared her thoughts in support of the #HighLowMum campaign as part of maternal mental health week last week.

The movement, started by writer Anna Mathers, encouraged mums to take to social media and share their honest highs and lows of motherhood.

Binky had India with ex Joshua Patterson in 2017 but the couple went their separate ways last year.

Speaking to Women’s Health about single motherhood earlier this year, she said;

“Of course there are times where I think, ‘F***, I’m on my own and I’ve got a baby.

“But I’ve always been a believer in what’s meant to be is meant to be and that things happen for a reason and that’s how I’ve just kind of led my life.

“I can get quite low scrolling through Instagram and seeing all these happy, or what looks like happy, families – mums and dads and babies.”

The couple have remained friends though and are actively co-parenting India.
