Oliver and Amelia have been revealed as the year’s top baby names in England and Wales.
Despite the growing popularity of the name George, in honour of his royal highness Prince George of Cambridge, and Lily, which replaced Mia in the top 10 most popular girls’ names, Amelia has been in the top spot since 2011 while Oliver has been in top spot since 2013.
Despite the arrival of Princess Charlotte in May, the name doesn’t feature in the top 12, coming in at No. 23 at the moment.
Jackson, Joey and Ellis entered the boys list for the first time this year, with the name Kian, jumping an impressive 41 places to number 53 since 2014.
Harper, Robyn, Nancy and Lottie were the rising stars of the girls list, while the TV show Game of Thrones inspired 53 hardcore fans to call their babies ‘Khaleesi’ and a further 244 to choose the name Arya.
