If you’re looking for the perfect mother and daughter cinema date, this film is ideal.

This International Women’s day March 8 ODEON cinemas welcome ‘Captain Marvel’, the Marvel franchises first ever super hero to its 11 cinemas nationwide.

The Marvel blockbuster will star Brie Larson as an ex-pilot who after an accident gains superpowers and joins an intergalactic team called Starforce.

The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.

Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Actress Brie Larson said;

“It’s so interesting, as it’s not something I thought about until I was in the cinema watching Wonder Woman. About two minutes in, I was sobbing and thought, “Why am I crying so much over this?” But it was seeing all of these warrior women who were so self-sufficient. That wasn’t something I identified with growing up – my hero was Indiana Jones. To have the chance to be one example of this is powerful and exciting.”

You can go see Captain Marvel today at ODEON Cinemas in Dublin (Blanchardstown, Charlestown, Coolock, Point Square, Stillorgan), Cavan, Limerick, Naas, Newbridge, Portlaoise and Waterford.
