Huge debate sparks online after dad brings his little girl to ladies toilet

Here's an issue which evidently, has opinions differing hugely.

A mum’s comments sparked huge debate online over whether or not dad should bring his little princess, age four, to the men’s bathroom or the women’s bathroom. It all started when a mum inspired the discussion on Mumsnet by speaking about the situation. The user named AdaHopper said she and her husband were in disagreement over it all and that she had told her husband that women are generally not fans of men in their bathroom - but he went ahead and brought the tot in anyway. One user replied;

“Your DH [darling husband] is bang out of order. Adult men should never be in the women’s toilets. If I saw him I’d report him to whichever establishment I was in.”

Another said;

What is it with all these toilet issues lately? There’s no way in hell my DH would ever set foot in a lady’s loo. When DD [darling daughter] was small he’d take her to a baby change loo or the gents in a dept. store cafe if nearby.

Other users were in complete agreement with dad or at least were accepting of dad’s decision making. One user explained;

“I still have memories of being taken into men’s loos as a child *shudders*. They are horrible. But mostly the memories are sound and smell as DF [darling father] has his hands over my eyes for the majority of the time.”

Another said;

“It wouldn’t bother me and it’s probably much nicer for her than seeing/smelling men weeing at the urinals. I do think we should have family toilets or something for these situations. However, it’s not like women take their clothes off at the basins or anything.”

Another made an alternative point.

“I understand the conflict, but I would rather a father in the ladies - individual cubicles - than a four-year-old girl being taken into the gents with no idea what she might see.”

Others chimed in claiming disabled bathrooms were also an option, but surely that wouldn’t be fair on those that need it. Just what is a parent to do?
