This cool project teaches your kids about expressing themselves through paint – plus it’s good for the soul. You can redecorate your living room or the kids room with the epic canvas creations afterwards.

We say introduce your tots to the art world early and create some mini artists. They have great value canvases at Tiger stores right now. Grab a few and get going.

Say ‘hey’ to tape art

What you’ll need:

Insulating tape

A couple of bottles of non-toxic acrylic paint

Three/four canvas or hardboards. Paper will also work but will need to be glued to a harder surface afterward.

What to do

1. A parent should tape the boards evenly from top-to-bottom along the length of the canvas or board in any design you choose.

2. Get your children painting with non-toxic acrylics in every colour. Best. Fun. Imaginable. Join in the madness too to create a happy memory that will forever hang on your wall.

3. Leave the canvas to dry overnight.

4. In the morning get the kids to remove the tape.

5. Voilà! – a cool, abstract tape art picture to keep forever.
