Helen Flanagan defends decision to continue co-sleeping with her daughter

The Corrie actress is again defending her decision to co-sleep with her two-year-old daughter.

Helen Flanagan has been the subject of much criticism for years now, and her decision to sleep next to her daughter, Matilda, has been one she has spent many of them defending. The 26-year-old has previously spoken out about mum-guilt and the pressure she felt with the eyes of the public on her. “I felt a bit guilty, asking if I was a bad mum for going to work and doing this for myself,” she revealed in an interview with The Sun.

However, the actress says she’s become “quite tough-skinned” after years in the public eye but still finds herself defending her parenting decisions. “I know I’m a really good mum, I don’t care if anyone else is judging me.” The mum initially tried to explain her reasoning for the decision saying it was only temporary, but now says she will continue to co-sleep. “They’re not young forever and it’s quite special having them there. [It will continue until] she gets bigger and is kicking me in the night.”

However, Helen does admit that there is one reason why she wouldn’t let Matilda into her bed. “When I haven’t seen Scott (Matilda’s father) for ages, we obviously go to sleep together and I put her in her cot.”
