Fed Up With The Housework? THIS Is How You Should Be Doing It

Sharyn Hayden

Have you ever nipped out for a few hours and left dad in charge of the kids and the housework?

I have – mostly, it works in my favour because my partner does all the cooking in our house and the meals he dishes up on my return are fab.

But he will readily admit that housework wouldn’t be high on his agenda.

It’s not that he can’t do it, it’s just that he isn’t arsed (and honestly, who could blame him?)

I’ve long given up on being annoyed about food on the counter-tops and jocks on the floor when I get home from being out. So long as he continues to announce ‘Your dinner is in the oven!’ when I walk through the door, I can just about forgive him anything.

But on the odd occasion that he is under duress to do the odd spot of cleaning, I now wonder if he gets on with it with as much conviction as this dad in this hilarious video.

Published on the ‘How To Dad’ YouTube channel, this dad is happily ‘training’ his toddler to get through basic household chores such as cleaning the windows and taking out the trash.

Watch when it comes to asking her to clean the toilets though – no one wants THAT job!
