Because not everything is suitable for little people.

Netflix is something the whole family enjoys, though not everyone watches the same stuff.

Certain things definitely aren’t suitable for little people, which is why we’re very happy about the streaming service’s latest announcement.

Netflix has said it will introduce PIN protection for specific content later this year.

The parental control feature will let you ‘lock’ TV shows and movies that you don’t want your kids seeing with a PIN code.

Netflix already allows parents to PIN-protect different maturity levels but this adds a new layer of protection.

“We understand that every family is different and that parents have differing perspectives on what they feel is appropriate to watch at different ages,” said Mike Hastings, director of enhanced content at Netflix.

“PIN protection for a specific series or film provides families with an additional tool to make decisions they are comfortable with.”

Netflix will also start showing its maturity level ratings more prominently on screen, he said.

“While these maturity ratings are available in other parts of the experience, we want to ensure members are fully aware of the maturity level as they begin watching,” Mike added.

“We are also continuing to explore ways to make this information more descriptive and easier for our members to understand with just a quick glance.”

Netflix has said that we can expect to see these features in the “coming months”.

If you’re looking for the Parental Controls on the service, you’ll find them under Accounts > Settings .
