Ryan Reynolds Reveals His Daughter’s VERY Unusual First Words

Amanda Cassidy

It is a moment we have imagined in our heads for months, nay, years.

The first little words out of your baby’s mouth are special, emotional, or in the case of Ryan Reynolds’s daughter, very very particular.

The Deadpool actor picked up a Critics Choice Award in Santa Monica this week and decided to dedicate his Best Actor in a Comedy gong to Tom Hanks who was in the audience.

Caught off guard, Ryan directed his speech towards the Sully actor:

“I genuinely was not expecting this, I prepared nothing. So, I’m just going to focus on Tom Hanks. No really, though, you’re a huge influence on me. My 2-year-old daughter – the first full sentence she ever said was, ‘There’s no crying in baseball.’ I’m not even kidding.”

He was referring to a line from Tom Hanks’ 1992 movie A League of Their Own.

Ryan Reynolds and wife, Blake Lively, are proud parents to a daughter, James, who was born in 2014 and they recently welcomed a second child in September.

We are just happy Ryan chose that catchphrase instead of any of Deadpool’s lines!

Oh, Ryan, what a kidder.
