Modern-day Leaving Cert students will swerve the Cáca Milis scenes that saw a blind Brendan Gleeson scrambling around for his inhaler while he choked to death on a train.
The iconic 18-minute-long Irish language film has been a staple of Irish examinations but will soon be replaced with new films for college-aspiring students to study.
The premise of Cáca Milis is that a woman named Catherine (played by Charlotte Bradley) has her quiet train journey interrupted by a blind man named Pól, who she subsequently murders in cold blood because he is a messy eater.
The Leaving Cert English curriculum is due to be updated by 2026 with more recently acclaimed films such as The Banshees of Inisherin and Barbie.
While Gleeson maintains his place on the Irish curriculum in The Banshees of Inisherin, he has admitted that he is glad that future generations won't experience the film and him 'stuffing his face with cake'.
In a recent interview with Newstalk presenter Pat Kenny, Gleeson, he was informed the film had finally been replaced by another of his works.

"You know you're on the curriculum for the Leaving Cert and the Banshees next year?" asked Kenny.
Gleeson, who seemingly was unaware of the news, responded with: "Well thanks be to God it makes a change from Cáca Milis," before bursting out into laughter.
"I've been stuffing my face with a cake for thirty years. The poor Leaving Cert students, honest to God!"
Students who are entering their fifth year this September can look forward to studying the two new Oscar-worthy flicks for their Leaving Cert in 2026.
