This school shoe hack has saved us a lot of money
One mum has revealed a genius trick for fixing scuffed school shoes – and honestly – everyone should know about this.
Brighton-based mum Veronique McDermott recently took to social media to show how easily they can make scuffed shoes look brand new again – even if they look completely ruined.
McDermott said she simply used black electric wire tape to cover up the worn-out areas on the front of her five-year-old daughter’s school shoes, and the results were unbelievable.

The mum-of-one says she spent just 89p (about €1) on the tape and said it’s saved her buying a brand new pair of school shoes for daughter Brooke, when there’s still plenty of life left in them.
Posting in the Family Lowdown Tips and Ideas group, McDermott wrote:
“When I bought my kids’ first pair of school shoes within 3 weeks she had damaged the toes which looked horrible but I couldn’t bring myself to buy another pair knowing the shoes still had loads of life in them.
“So I thought I’d tape the toes with electric wire tape. They lasted ages and I’ve now done the second round on the same pair.. Ready to last hopefully another few months!”
We’ll certainly give this a go!
