The Kiddie Christmas Countdown: 2 More Sleeps!

Sharyn Hayden

Two more sleeps! Two! It’s so close. How are all the kiddies coping with the excitement?

In our house, four-year-old Jacob is going to sleep ok, but he’s up crazy early every morning, jumping around with giddiness. It’d be really cute if it wasn’t 5 am!

With schools finishing up and mum and dad (hopefully) sorted by now with all the Christmas arrangements, there is so much fun to be had in continuing the build-up.

So let’s get started!

1. Change those chalkboards, blackboards, get the advent calendars up to date – it’s only Two More Sleeps! Hurray!

2. Play games around the Number Two – find two things of the same colour, the same shape (might be handy if you’re trying to find missing slippers or shoes!)

3. Have fun putting handprints or footprints on Christmas cards – for dad, mum, aunts, uncles or grannies and granddads – they will love to get them on Christmas Day from their favourite little people!

4. Check out the competition – when it starts to get dark, take a stroll around the neighbourhood and check out all of the decorations. Let the kids pick their favourites.

5. Sing your favourite Christmas songs after dinner – the more fun and of course, with actions, the better! Kids love nothing more than mum and dad being silly with them so crack out Frosty the Snowman!

6. Show them Santa’s test flight at Cork airport – they won’t believe their eyes!

Santa’s Test FlightAir Traffic Control at Cork Airport has confirmed an identified flying object completing a test flight this evening in advance of Christmas Eve.
