These soothers have been developed with the help of dental experts and mums really rate them

Amy Nolan

If you’re concerned about your children’s teeth becoming misaligned, listen up!

Soothers or ‘dummies’ as they’re sometimes referred to can often be controversial. Much like your child sucking their thumb, there’s the risk of them pushing their teeth forward and causing misalignment.

Then again, most parents give their children soothers at some stage and they can be a lovely source of comfort for babies.

If misalignment further down the line is a concern of yours, however, some mums are swearing by the brand NUK who have created the ‘Genius Silicone Soother’, which many parents are raving about.

Makeup artist, influencer and mum of one (soon to be two!) Lisa Jordan posted about the soothers on her Instagram Stories earlier this year.

She included an adorable picture of her daughter Pearl with a Minnie Mouse addition.

Too cute!

The Genius Soother is “the new generation of NUK Soother. Still based on the approved orthodontic NUK shape, but improved with a softer and more flexible baglet, to further reduce the pressure on baby’s jaw and teeth, as well as the risk of teeth misalignment.”

They are approved by the Oral Health Foundation and can be conveniently cleaned with steam in the microwave.

On the Boots website, a pack of two retails for €6.59. Have you tried them yet, mums?
