This creative craft project will keep kids occupied for HOURS

Katie Mythen-Lynch

The summer holidays have officially started and what better way to keep the kids out of your hair (and out of your house) than with a fun outdoor craft project?

These cute bracelets are made from little else but some popsicle sticks, available in any art supplies store.

The best kind of crafts are the ones people of all ages can have get involved in, so gather all the kids on the street (and their Moms) sit them at an outdoor picnic table covered in newspaper and let them get stuck in… you can even paint a crafty new summer accessory for yourself.

Here’s how:

1. Boil a pack of lollipop sticks in a pot of water for one hour, then turn off the heat.

2. Use tongs to remove the sticks one by one. Place on a teatowel until it’s cool enough to touch, then hold each end and bend it into a bracelet shape. Pop them in a cup or glass so they hold their shape while they dry overnight.

3. Once they are completely dry, remove the bracelets from the glass and decorate using paint or washi tape.
