This slightly creepy rabbit book makes kids fall asleep in minutes

Katie Mythen-Lynch

A book that puts kids to sleep in under twenty minutes is now a number one bestseller, as parents worldwide snap up copies of the holy grail of bedtime reading.

In The Rabbit Who Wants To Fall Asleep, Roger the rabbit gets help from Uncle Yawn and other friends to fall asleep in the evening. Compelled by the story and the soothing language pattern, developed by Swedish psychologist Carl-Johan Forssén Ehrlin, parents are reporting that children drop off during the tale or shortly after.

To the naked eye, the illustrations initially appear a little lacklustre, but Amazon reviewer Jessica reported an instant success: “Our 9 month old daughter has been wild at bedtime, and we’ve tried so many methods of calming her, but this has been the first thing to get her into sleep mode in under 20 minutes.”

Thrilled mom Emily adds: “I’m literally in SHOCK right now. I got about half way thru the book and my 3 year old son was sound asleep. I was so shocked I started laughing and woke him up. (way to go mom).”

Stunned dad Ryan Jack Taylor reports: “It’s 7:20pm, and twin 4-year-olds are passed out. Normally, they’re up until 9 pm. This worked like a charm.”

The book, which has been translated into seven languages so far, is currently outselling Harper Lee’s Go Set A Watchman.
