Tycoon babysitter hires CEO to manage her $480,000 business

Nannies by Noa: It's Babysitters club 2.0

It’s a far cry from The Babysitters Club.

Noa Mintz, an enterprising US teenager, was recently compelled to hire a chief executive to manage the day-today running of her business, Nannies by Noa that has earned her approximately $480,000 to date reports the New York Post.

With the help of her investment banker father, Mintz set up the child care agency three years ago, at the age of 12 to meet a demand, she perceived, for more engaged and stimulating childcare professionals. She hit upon the idea when she became dissatisfied with the childcare she, herself, was receiving.

“At 7, I would tell my mum, ‘You need to get more bang for your buck.’ It would drive me insane!”

Since then the business has grown from strength to strength, employing 25 full-time nannies and 50 babysitters, with more than 180 clients.

“For what you’re paying, your kids should be more stimulated,” the outspoken and entrepreneurial teen told the New York Post.

Mintz recently hired a trained social worker, Allison Johnson (26) who first applied for a nanny position through the agency. Johnson described taking orders from a teenage boss as “a little bit of a challenge at first”, but she also told the newspaper that she was a feminist who really supported the young Mintz.

They communicate via phone and email while Mintz is at high school during the day. “She can’t shut off,” says Johnson.

We are seriously impressed with this girl’s chutzpah.
