Victoria Beckham put Harper in a school uniform for home school, and the internet had opinions

We are all in the same boat with this pandemic.

Especially when it comes to the practicalities of having to homeschool our children. And sure look – most of us are not teachers. We never made the choice to homeschool and planned accordingly. This is crisis schooling in the middle of a global health emergency, and honestly, we are all just doing our best.

To the Duchess of Cambridge, this meant telling little George and Charlotte and fib over Easter, never actually letting them know that Easter actually meant a break from schoolwork. Instead, to keep them on their little routine, Kate kept on doing morning hours of school right through the break – and honestly, the kids never even knew, so it surely did them no harm.

To Victoria Beckham, it seemed the easiest way to get little Harper Seven into school mode was to have her wear her school uniform – even if they were at home. The 46-year-old mum-of-four has, like the rest of us, been homeschooling her children these past few weeks, but when she posted a photo of eight-year-old Haper reading in her school uniform recently, it unleashed the trolls.

Clearly having a child wear their uniform at home is no problem in the slightest, but many seemed to think this was a major deal.

“Does she need to wear a uniform!”

“Why the school uniform?”

“No point in that.”

In other words, plenty of people thinking they have a say in how others parent.

Other followers, however, leapt to Posh’s defence.

“The point is to separate school from lounging about. The self-discipline,” said one mum.

“Our daughter wears her school uniform at ‘school’ every day. Trying to keep the structure,” added another. “Perhaps her parents are trying to keep her routine the same as when she is at school and by wearing her uniform.”

My children’s school does not have uniforms, but I am very firm on that from Monday to Friday, we change out of our PJs immediately, and into normal clothes – it just feels like hanging onto a bit of normality and separating the weekdays from the weekend.

What do YOUR children wear for homeschool, mums?
