Being a mum is the greatest, most amazing thing I have ever done.
Sometimes I look at my children and literally feel like my heart is about to burst open with this crazy, all-conduming love.
We all feel those feelings. But let’s not sweep under the rug that being someone’s mum is also hard work. Especially when you have young children, and they need you all the time. They need you top put on Paw Patrol and pour milk on their cereal and hold their hand when they cross the street and wash their hair in the bath. They need you when they wake up and when they go to sleep and often, right in the middle of the night too. As their mum, you are their world, and it is beautiful and exhausting, all rolled into one.
When you have a baby, you give up so many things about your old life, and at times, we mourn some of these. But mamas, what we get, boy, does it surpass anything we ever had to give up.
