Seeing the latest Star Trek movie this week has got me all fired up to name my next baby Spock.
In a bid to keep this from happening, I thought I'd channel my inner-Frohike and put together some namespiration for those among us who wish Quantum Leap was still on.

1. Anakin – Luke and Leia are a bit safe for the average Wookie Baby (official name for the offspring of Star Wars fans) we like Anakin for a bit of soon-to-be-evil-overlord pizzazz.
2. Veda – naming a child after Darth Vader may seem like an odd choice, though only to those who haven't lived with a teenage girl. Trust me, in a few years it will be perfectly apt. Bonus connotation: Vada Sultenfuss – LOVE her.

4. Hermione – The ultimate role model: Intelligent, talented and a lover of books.
5. Xander – A good option for Buffy fans, hopefully your little one will grow up with a similar talent for pithy one-liners and slaying vampires.
6. Frodo – Our favourite Middle Earth dweller has the kind of pure, earnest nature one would like to cultivate in their baby.
7. Anya – Gamers with girl babies might appreciate naming the baba for this Call of Duty character.
8. Alyx – Half Life provides inspiration for this future freedom fighter, it is a first person shooter so perhaps don't show it to them for a couple of decades...
9. Emmett – "Where we're going we don't need roads." The innovative inventor from modern classic Back to the Future inspires this slightly less cray name.
10. Dana/Fox – Because X-Files series 1 and 2 RULED, Don't get me started on subsequent series' however, you lost me, Chris Carter. Let's hope the movie redeems things somewhat.
