Grian

Grian is a very literal translation of ‘sun’ in Irish. Although it’s now a masculine name, Grian was originally a pre-Christian goddess.

Soleil

This is the French word for ‘sun’, and is perfect for baby girl. It’s definitely a unique name that no one else in the class will have.

Áine

In Irish mythology, Áine was a goddess of summer. She was associated with the sun, and her name translates to ‘radiance’ and ‘brightness.’

Alba

Alba is a Latin name meaning ‘dawn’ and ‘bright’, and it is a popular girl’s name in Spain and Italy.

Cyrus

Cyrus is a boy’s name of Persian origin. Many kings and members of royalty shared the moniker, which translates directly to ‘sun.’

Elio

Another great name for a boy, Elio is an Italian name that is thought to be derived from the name Helios, meaning ‘sun.’
