So many Irish baby names are growing in popularity lately but there is one that isn't getting as much recognition as it used to.
There are some Irish names that will stand the test of time and will remain popular forever.
However, there are some that swiftly go out of style like the name Ciaran.
Ciaran was once one of the most popular names for a baby boy born on the Emerald Isle, but it's no longer a favourite with new mums and dads.
The name, which is of Irish origin, means 'little dark-haired one' but parents are opting for more modern names instead.
The name has become so unpopular that it's almost on the verge of extinction.
According to the CSO, only five baby boys were called Ciaran in 2023. 12 boys were also given the name Kieran in 2023.
Names like James, Theo, and Noah are now taking the top spots.
Parents are also opting for names like Rian and Jack.
Some Irish names are still growing in popularity with some Irish names entering the top 100 boy names in 2023.
The five new entrants to the top 100 for boys included Caelan, Jude, Paddy, Éanna, and Dáithí.
