Gemma Atkinson is quickly shutting down the mum-shamers.
Gemma Atkinson has defended her decision to stop breastfeeding her five-week-old son Thiago.
The former actress gave birth to her second child, a baby boy named Thiago, in July, but has decided to stop breastfeeding her son.
Gemma explained why on her Instagram story after one of her followers asked if she was using formula or breast milk.
Gemma said: "No more sore boobies! He had about a week's worth of breast milk I'd managed to express and freeze but that's all gone.
"My boobs are slowly shrinking back to normal size which my back is eternally grateful for," the mum-of-two said.
Gemma explained to her followers that she only wanted to breastfeed for around five weeks.
"That's what I did with Mia so I set myself that target. I was fortunate enough to be able to express a lot so he ended up having about 6 weeks."
The mum said breastfeeding was "exhausting" for her.
"My boobs and back were quite sore and knowing I had school coming up for Mia and knowing Gorka would be away in London I knew it would be easier and less stressful on the bottle and I've always said that's how feeding should be."
The mum said it was the best decision for her, but every parent is different.
She also said mothers who bottle feed their children should not be judged.
"My thoughts are "fed is best" and as long as the mum and are happy, that's what matters," she stressed.
