Give kids the gift of reading this Christmas with a book subscription box

Anna Martin

You can give your kids the gift of reading this Christmas!

Every year it seems harder and harder to get your little ones away from screens but this gift might have just made that task easier.

These subscription boxes offer kids a gift that keeps on giving beyond Christmas Day and they are proving increasingly popular as children simply love getting an exciting parcel in the post each month!

Book boxes from A Pocketful Of Books start at under €15 and make a unique gift that is both educational and inspirational, whilst also encouraging screen-free time.

An independent small business run by a mum of two, A Pocketful Of Books was shortlisted for a Junior Design Award this year, and offers single book boxes, treat boxes and a range of subscription options across three different reader levels, perfect for kids aged 3 to 12.

Each book box features a recently published, exciting fiction book along with a small gift and a tailor-made magazine packed with activities and fun facts inspired by the story, from STEM to arts and crafts, all designed to get kids really engaged with books.

Seasonal Christmas Treat Boxes are also available, each one containing additional festive goodies such as Christmas socks, a hot chocolate kit and a tree decoration – perfect as a stocking filler or a ready-made Christmas Eve Box.

While reading is incredibly important it can be hard to find the time to get to the library or bookshop as a working parent.

This gift will take away at least some of that struggle with books arriving straight to your doorstep.

Subscriptions begin at €14.50 per month and Christmas Treat Boxes start at €19.
