Average woman diets to lose 4lbs, twice a year

Katie Mythen-Lynch

Feel like you’re always saving your points or counting your Syns or avoiding the carbs? Well it’s no wonder; the average woman will have spent three years on a diet by the time she reaches the age of 30, according to new research.

A poll of 1,000 women revealed that the average woman loses approximately 4lbs twice a year, most likely ahead of the annual summer holiday and before the Christmas party season.

By our calculations, that means the average woman has lost (and probably regained) more than six stone between the ages of 18 and 30.

The peak age for weight loss plans and programmes correspond with the most popular for motherhood at around 33.

According to the research, released by Forza Supplements, one of the leading incentives to lose weight is appearing heavier than a close friend or sister, followed by seeing your body in the mirror of a store changing room.
