"I have better qualifications to teach than being thin and pretty"
YouTube's Ms. Rachel, Rachel Accurso, gave the perfect response to a social media user who body-shamed the former preschool teacher.
Ms. Rachel is best known for her
YouTube channel,
Songs for Littles, a children's music series geared towards language development for toddlers and infants.
The troll passed a remark on the songwriters body and supposed weight gain and decided that she should be 'prettier' if she's going to have a show teaching toddlers. However, Ms. Rachel decided to teach the troll a lesson.
Taking to her
Instagram, the social media personality explained that she was in the process of finishing her second masters in educations.
"Finishing my second masters in education while someone comments I’ve gained weight and should lose weight and try to be prettier if I’m going to have a show teaching toddlers," she wrote.
In the clip, Ms. Rachel, who is known for her beaming and bright personality and positive energy on her YouTube channel, looks more serious and somber as she stares at a computer screen.
"Real comment I got… I have better qualifications to teach than being thin and pretty. And that’s not where my value is!" she clapped back.
And it seems that Ms. Rachel's followers immediately came to her defence.
"Your body is nobody’s business. Thank you for teaching kids what REALLY matters — kindness, empathy, helping others, being a good human. And just know… it’s THEIR own insecurities they’re projecting on you, nothing to do with you," one user wrote'
"Nobody speaks to my digital coparent like that!" another said.
"They better slowly, slowly, very slowly back tf away before the toddlers raised by Miss Rachel quickly, quickly, very quickly have a boss baby movement," one Instagram user warned.
"Don't play with Auntie Rachel. We gon STEP! Matter of fact, hop little bunnies hop hop hop!" another joined in.
"Ladies, we ride at dawn!!!" one user posted.
This is why we love Ms. Rachel and this is what young children need to be taught.
