Yellow pillows are nothing to be ashamed of.

No one particularly likes to look at them, but there’s nothing wrong with them as generally speaking they are caused by body oils and sweat that build up over time.

Yet if you really don’t like to look at stains in general, one mum has come up with an easy way to remove those pesky stains – and it’s easy.

Cleaning guru, Mrs Hinch, has a big following on her Facebook page where she posts cleaning tips and tricks and sometimes her followers have their own methods others can use.

One fan decided to share her hack for beating yellow pillows and you might even have the supplies sitting under your kitchen sink right now.

“Well ladies you all know how yellow our hubby’s pillows get I have in the past sprayed with Pink Stuff and left in the bath for a while, then added it to the wash,” she explained.

“This was great at first, but then it didn’t really work so well at removing tough stains anymore.

“But I tried one scoop of Napisan in washer on an hour wash on sixty and it’s like new. Wish I’d taken before photos, it’s brilliant.”

Alongside the post, the social media user shared photos of the pillow after using Napisan and they were a bright shade of white.

The post received more than 100 comments from group members sharing their thoughts on this product which is typically used for killing germs and removing stains on baby clothes.

Posting a picture of the product, another group member said: “A scoop of this in your washing machine drawer with your usual detergent is the fastest way to whiten your pillows.”

According to the product description, a measure of 60g of the product only needs to be used for heavy stains, so if you’re dealing with minor stains, you only need to use 30g.

Allow the pillows to dry completely before using them again.
