First of all a mother in Arizona is told that her son should play outside less because his laughter is disruptive; now, an eight-year-old girl in Quebec has been told to stop reading her books on the school bus because it’s dangerous.

Sarah Auger loves books and used to enjoy reading on her 20-minute ride to and from school, but her bus driver has told her to stop. Why? According to CBC News, he said she posed a risk to other students on the bus because they might stand up to see what she was reading, or she might poke herself in the eye with the corners of the book.

Understandably, the rule isn’t sitting so well with her dad who has complained to the Hautes-Rivière school board but was told the person driving the bus is allowed to make the rules.

In a statement, the board said that reading is “obviously” not dangerous; however, it also specified that personal belongings of students, including books, must stay in their bags during the duration of their trip home.

Yes, it’s been a funny old few days in the world of parenting but these bizarre happenings have definitely got us talking.
