There might be a slight stretch in the evenings this week but don’t pack away the scarves and mittens just yet… Met Éireann has warned that temperatures are set to plummet once again.
A Status Yellow wind warning is in place for tonight, with snow expected in many parts of the country. The mercury will drop as low as minus eight tonight, Saturday, with chilly conditions continuing until Monday and widespread rain forecast on Tuesday.
According to meteorologist Peter O’Donnell of Irish Weather Online: “Forecasts show severe cold and a risk of snow in central counties, with a cold rain possibly reaching Kerry and west Cork but sleet there on hills too.”
Our advice? Wrap up warm, get out there and build the last (hopefully!) snowman of 2015!
