If you have purchased this product, cease using it immediately
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has reported that online retailer, Ortorex, has recalled a range of baby sleeping bags due to suffocation risks.
Various baby sleeping bags and various baby wrap sleeping bags were sold on Ortorex’s website to Irish customers.
The safety issue was identified by the CCPC as the product’s head covering ‘presents a risk of suffocation’.
The head covering has also been associated with ‘sudden infant death syndrome’, according to the CCPC.
Ortorex sold the Baby Sleeping Bags online for three age categories – 0-3 months; 6 months; and 9 months – in various colours – pink, white, and grey.
The number of affected products in the Republic of Ireland is unknown.
What to do
If you purchased one of these products, please stop use immediately.
Similarly, if you have gifted a new parent this product, advise them to stop using it.
The CCPC advises customers to contact Ortorex to see if there are any remedies available to them.
