Call the Midwife
Call the Midwife fans will be overjoyed to hear the show is returning for a thirteenth season.
The beloved BBC drama series has been on air for over a decade and is continuing to grow in popularity.
Call the Midwife will have two new additions to the cast in 2024.
The new season is set to air on Sunday, January 7th at 8:00 pm.
Student midwives Joyce Highland and Rosalind Clifford will be joining the show.
Actresses Renee Bailey and Natalie Quarry will play the new characters
Season 13 of Call the Midwife will be full of highly emotional episodes.
Show creator Heidi Thomas opened up about the new season.
“Newcomers Joyce and Rosalind arrive with much to learn. As 1969 unfolds, we’ll see change and challenge rock the world of our beloved nuns, nurses, medics, and midwives,” she told RadioTimes.
“Even as man prepares to walk on the Moon, we see them grappling with life’s eternal questions. Who are we? What is love? And where do we belong?”
News of the new season comes after fans expressed their concerns about one character.
The Call the Midwife Christmas special will air on Christmas Day, but fans fear Sister Monica Joan could be in danger.
The nun has been a major part of the show since it started but her character has suffered with her health in recent years.
Fans are concerned something may happen to her in the Christmas Special, but we’re hoping the Christmas episode isn’t a tear-jerker.
