Dáithí O’Sé will have a co-host this year.
Kathryn Thomas is reportedly the front-runner to join Dáithí O’Sé as Rose of Tralee host.
The RTÉ presenter will join forces with Dáithí this August when the festival returns to Tralee.
Producers are keen to have a duo host the beloved Irish competition this summer.
A source revealed to RSVP that Anna Geary and Doireann Garrihy are also being considered for the role.
They said, “RTE has gone for Kathryn Thomas because she is the perfect fit for the Rose of Tralee audience.”
RTÉ chose Kathryn Thomas for the role because of her strong television history. The empathy she shows on Operation Transformation also encouraged their decision.

“She will work very well with Dáithí O’Sé, who is still going to be the star of the show, and she is well versed in being part of a two-hander with years of experience behind her.”
Dáithí has been hosting the Rose of Tralee since 2010, but introducing a second host is bound to give the show a new lease of life.
Other Rose of Tralee hosts include Ryan Tubridy, Terry Wogan, Marty Whelan, and Ray D’Arcy.
