They say your firstborn child prepares and gives you knowledge of the role of parenting.
This is something that any future children will benefit from, whether they like it or not.
Kim Kardashian has found this to be the case with her children, as there is one thing she allowed her eldest daughter, North, to do that she won’t repeat with her youngest daughter, Chicago.
Speaking to Bustle, the Kardashian sister says that when it comes to raising her younger kids, she has adopted a different approach in certain areas based on her parenting experience.
For example, when it comes to makeup and beauty, North was allowed to dabble and experiment, something Chicago isn’t.
“I look back and there’s times when I remember I let my daughter wear a red lip once for Christmas. Would I do that now? Probably not,” she told the outlet.
“At least with my oldest daughter, she just likes to dress her friends up and do makeup looks, whether it’s like Pikachu or the Grinch.
“I don’t think she’s there yet to where she is going into Sephora and trying on stuff,” Kim continued.
“We were at Saks in the makeup department the other night and she tested something but put a heart on her face with it. I’m like, I don’t think that’s really why you use eyeliner.”
While the mum of four has decided against makeup at events or outside the family home, she does allow her kids to use her products, but in a fun capacity instead of it being beauty-focused.
“They are always trying to use everything that I have in my drawers. I think it’s a fun game for them. It’s art for them to try to do makeup, which is so fun for me to watch,” the SKKN founder shared.
“It’s like they want to play with their friends and do it, and then they want to just wash it right off. I’m down for the artistry. I think it’s fun when they’re trying it all and expressing themselves.”
Kim shares four children with her ex-husband, Kanye West: North, 10, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 4.
