Lea Michele is currently expecting her second child
Broadway star Lea Michele has opened up about the miscarriage heartache she experienced before her current pregnancy.
Michele bravely spoke out about the harrowing losses on Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt’s podcast BDA Baby.
She confirmed that she suffered two early pregnancy losses after her son Ever was born.
She told the host: “I had never had a miscarriage before. The first one, I was like, ‘That was weird’.
“When it happened again right away, I was like, ‘Wait a second. Something is wrong.'”
The Glee star and her husband stopped trying when she started working on Funny Girl but she had another miscarriage shortly after.
“It wasn’t until a little bit later, I had another (miscarriage).
“I was working at the time. It was super challenging to…process what we were experiencing at the same time, which was very painful,” she shared.
Michele was then diagnosed with endometriosis and underwent surgery.
She got pregnant with their second child with the help of “so many drugs and medications and one thousand shots”.
Michele confirmed she was expecting her second child in March. She later confirmed the sex of her baby in a moving Mother’s Day post.
“The most beautiful Mother’s Day today, holding my son who made me a mama…and carrying my daughter,” she wrote.
Lea Michele and her husband Zandy Reich are already parents to son Ever.
