Forecasters predict colder temperatures for later this week

We’ve had some very blustery days over the last few weeks but overall December has been pretty mild.

It seems however that that could be about to change as temperatures are expected to drop later this week.

That’s right, while forecasters have said that there is no chance of a white Christmas (despite the annual rumours), they have said it will turn colder.

Met Éireann meteorologist Pat Clarke is quoted by the Irish Mirror as saying: “At the moment it looks like Christmas Eve and Christmas morning will start off cold with frost.

“Nothing serious, but given we have had little to none this month it will be a change.”

According to Clarke, the start of this week will see temperatures in and around 11 degrees Celsius before dropping to under 5 degrees Celsius in parts later this week.

In general, according to the Met Éireann website, conditions will be unsettled with rain showers predicted for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and St Stephen’s Day.

Guess it’s a good thing we had planned on spending those days inside with the family!
