“I don’t think I’ll ever be the person I once was”
Tom Parker, who was a member of the band The Wanted, passed away one year ago today due to a brain tumour.
This morning Kelsey Parker, Tom’s wife, took to Instagram with an emotional post.
She shared a photo of her and Tom looking as happy as ever and captioned it: “One year without you. forever my soul mate.”
Kelsey also opened up about the lead-up to Tom’s one-year anniversary in an interview with Tyla.
She said: “It’s just been so tough.
“I’ve just been dreading the month of March because it was my birthday at the beginning of the month, I’ve had Mother’s Day, and now Tom’s anniversary.
“I just don’t know how you prepare for it, really.
“I do feel like the first six months of it was an outer-body experience and don’t really feel like I was actually here.
“It’s only now I feel like I’m back being me again.
“So I don’t know, I think I’m just taking each day as it comes. I don’t think I’m ever going to be that person that I once was.
“I’ve been through so much that I don’t think I’m ever going to be the Kelsey that I was two years ago. There’s no way I could be that person.”

“Our hearts are broken”
The grieving mum-of-two is among the line-up of celebrities on Ashley Cain’s new series of MTV FACES. This series will see stars engage in raw discussions about death, suicide, and loss.
Ashley Cain lost his daughter Azaylia, who was just eight-months old when she died. She had been ill with acute myeloid leukaemia.
Kelsey plans to appear in episode one of Ashley’s new series, and speak to him about Tom, who died on 30 March 2022 after he was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2020.
She was the one who announced the news that Tom had passed away.
In a devastating Instagram post, she wrote: “Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence.”
