Modern man has made no secret of his preference for a shapely bottom, but before you roll your eyes, consider this: it might be entirely down to his DNA.
According to scientists, a spine curvature of 45 degrees makes a woman more likely to be able to stay mobile during pregnancy.
A team of researchers from
Bilkent University in Turkey asked 300 men to choose their favourite female silhouette from a selection of different shapes. The majority of the volunteers chose a shape with a spine curvature of at least 45.5 degrees, suggesting this evolutionary explanation for mate preference is still a factor today. Or that the Kardashians are especially popular in Turkey.
