From the moment you wake up until the moment your kids go to bed, your brain has to be on, the second you look away is the second one of the kids decides to give themselves a fringe.
It feels like there are not enough hours in the day, between making sure your children are okay and getting the housework done, sometimes your to-do list just never gets finished.
So how would you feel if your other half gets home from work and they're unhappy that not every single thing is done yet?
Would you accept that your so-called job is to take care of everything in the house no matter what, even if you're exhausted?
One woman on Reddit is trying to figure out her own feelings after finding herself in this exact situation.
Venting her frustrations she wrote, "My husband works 10-12 hours a day and I'm a stay at home mum. We have two kids (four and one).
"After a long day taking care of the kids, when my husband is home he’ll help feed and put the kids to sleep. Some days I’m so exhausted, I don’t have dinner ready for him when he comes home and some chores aren’t done."
Sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day to get on top of things, it seems reasonable that not everything can be finished but according to this woman's husband she needs to be on top of all chores.
"He tells me that as a stay at home mum, my responsibilities are to make sure foods ready, he’s got clean clothes for work, and the kids are taken care of.
"He says that because I stay at home, my job is to take care of the house and kids. But I get exhausted and tired too. Am I crazy? Was he out of line or was he right?
"What should the roles of a stay at home mum be? How do you other mamas handle it?"
Well people were quick to tell her that her husband should be pulliong his weight too.
"He says it’s your job, but if he doesn’t work 24-hours, neither should you be expected to. When he’s home it should be 50/50," commented one.
"I don’t get it… lots of us work outside the home and feed ourselves and do our own laundry when we get home, I’m not sure why he thinks he shouldn’t have to," added one.
"My guess is, he’s grossly underestimating how much work goes into looking after a baby and a preschooler."
While a third penned, "He needs to help with laundry, dishes etc. I'm sure ge gets a break at his job. Moms never get a break or a day off. Ever."
