Panti Bliss gets honest about DWTS backstage rows

Ellen Fitzpatrick

Hard to imagine.

Panti Bliss has opened up on their relationship with Dancing With The Stars partner Denys Samson since being kicked off the show – particularly the “huge rows” the two had.

Insisting that the two always kissed and made up straight away, Panti claimed there were a few fights throughout their time on the show.

Following their loss in the dance off on Sunday against Eurovision singer Brooke Scullion, Panti, who is also known as Rory O’Neill, said the experience took over his whole life.

Revealing to The Sun that he started training in November and only now got a break, Rory said that his life began to revolve around the show.

He said: “Trying to fit in a few pints after training. Fitting in more than we should have — then getting up to train the next day.

“Usually on Wednesday or Thursday having a huge passionate row in the evening because we were tired and frustrated then get back into it.

“It was an experience which was hard to explain to people on the outside.”

Rory and Denys broke records during their time on the show, becoming the first same-sex couple to dance together over a season.

Disappointed to have been kicked off the RTÉ series this week, Rory said: “I’m good, obviously disappointed. We wanted to finish and we got so close to the end, it’s disappointing not to. But on the other hand, that is the game and I’m proud of
what we did and we had a lot of fun doing it.

“But I’m by far the oldest contestant and made it this far.

“We did achieve that and I’m super proud. I got everything out of it that I wanted to get out of it except for getting to the final but that aside, we did everything else.”
