Diary of a Wimpy Kid is making a Christmas comeback
But before you sit down with your smallies to watch, you might want to consider one aspect of the flick if you want to keep the Santa magic alive for longer.
A few parents who decided to give the film a go were left upset when the ‘magic’ was spoiled for their children.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, a lot of people took it upon themselves to warn others of the exact scene.

“FAO parents of smallies Just an fyi…. The new Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie on DisneyPlus gives away all the magic of Santa.
“He goes and finds the presents in the hot press and then at the end, it’s the same presents left out from Santa. It’s rated 6+. A lot of very upset kids.”
Another upset person wrote: “Why do you have a decidedly child-unfriendly movie, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Christmas Cabin Fever, listed as a family must-watch?
“Yes, there are far larger problems in the world, but this is still an unnecessary and callous unkindness to small children.”
Some parents called for the age rating to be changed to 12+ so that it can be blocked and young kids can’t tune in.
The story begins two weeks before Christmas and the protagonist Greg Heffley is looking at a game console in a toy catalogue that he desperately wants for Christmas.
He thinks that this could be his ‘last year’ to get something good for Christmas as he has noticed that the quality of your gifts declines as you get older.
So Greg vows to be good until the big day to ensure he gets his present and his mother reinforces this by telling him to be good because Santa is watching.
