According to Chinese news site, en.people.cn, a 26-year-old man has grown boobs as a result of his penchant for fried chicken and drumsticks.
When Mr. Li, a college graduate, began to notice changes in his body he sought medical advice and was told to avoid his go-to snacks as doctors believe that the chicken contains hormones which caused him to develop breasts. The condition, Gynecomastia, causes men’s breast tissue to enlarge and can be caused by an imbalance of oestrogen and testosterone.
According to People’s Daily Online this is not an isolated incident and in Western China another young man has developed breasts so pronounced he opted to have them surgically removed. This 17-year-old’s condition is also being put down to the consumption of hormone-laden foods and both men were advised to introduce more fruit and vegetables into their diets which seems to be sound enough advice, boobs or no boobs.
