PETA’s Latest Ad Causes Controversy and Claims Vegans “Last Longer”

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has never shied away from controversy and its latest advertisement proves just that.

The organisation unveiled the ad on YouTube this week and according to Gossip Cop it has already been banned from television (despite being produced for the NFL Superbowl commercial break).

The campaign, which was guaranteed to set tongues wagging and pulses racing, is based around the claim that vegans “last longer” in bed than meat-eaters (it comes as no surprise that the 38-second clip is pretty raunchy).

It shows two couples, one vegan couple and one meat-eating couple, having sex but one of them lasts significantly longer. There is also a graphic and shocking end as the man who likes to eat meats gets hit by a falling object.

The description on YouTube reads: “Sleeping with someone who eats meat? There may be more than one disappointment in store. Eating the saturated fat and cholesterol in meat can increase the risk of developing heart disease, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, and these can be dangerous to your love life. Why? Because they’re all common causes of erectile dysfunction. Plant-based foods keep blood flowing to all the body’s organs. The key to a hot love life and to lasting longer in the bedroom is to start with delicious vegan meals in the kitchen.

“Did you know that vegetarians are 32 percent less likely to develop heart disease than meat-eaters are and they have a lower risk of suffering from diseases such as cancer and diabetes?”
