Though William and Kate like taking a leaf out of Diana’s book they want to avoid this.

According to royal expert Duncan Larcombe, the couple won’t be repeating what has been called Diana’s “biggest parenting regret”.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are known to be very involved parents to their three kids Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and five-year-old Prince Louis

While William’s late mother Diana, was known to be a doting and loving mother, Duncan highlighted that one of her “biggest regrets” was spending time away from her kids to fulfil her work duties.

“Diana was very hands-on with the boys but there were large chunks of time she had to be away due to work,” the expert explained during an interview with OK! Magazine.

William was also often paraded on royal tours and outings and his childhood was by no means perfect. That was one of Diana’s big regrets.”

He added: “Not always being there due to work and also times when William had to put his royal life ahead of personal life as a child.

“William has always wanted to raise his children with Diana’s lessons and regrets in mind. His children’s needs come before royal duty.”

Kate, like Diana, is a hands-on parent according to Duncan, but also is influenced by the way her own parents raised her.

“With Kate, she takes royal duty seriously but she will drop everything for her children and that has been an agreed term between her and William throughout,” Duncan explained.

An example of the Princess of Wales’ dedication to her children is her decision to remain in the UK last week rather than head to Singapore with William for the Earthshot Prize Awards.

The mum-of-three chose to remain at home and help their eldest son Prince George with his important upcoming school exams instead.
