If you had plans to take the kids out for the day or even step out your front door this weekend, you might need to rethink them.
Unfortunately the weekend is going to be a complete washout. As in, literally.
According to Met Éireann today will bring wet and windy conditions across the country and they aren’t going to go away.
We’re talking heavy showers and gusts of up to 100km/h this afternoon. The downpours will continue into the evening bringing a risk of flooding.
This will continue tomorrow with torrential rain and widespread flooding. Winds will remain strong and temperatures will be around 11 to 13 degrees Celsius.
Saturday night will see much of the same however on Sunday morning the rain is expected to clear leaving a mixture of isolated showers and sunny spells.
On Sunday evening the rain will return, again with the threat of flooding, and looks set to continue into next week.
So in other words, the weekend is going to be very wet and pretty windy – the perfect excuse for two family duevt days we think.
If you are bracing the elements, the gardaí have advised people to take extra care.
